GLENN STREET LIVE

Folks often tell me that they would love to come to my live shows, but the gigs are too late or too far away or they have work/school the next day, etc. Well, that’s why we created Glenn Street Live – where we bring the music LIVE to you!!! Glenn Street Live is a new series of web-only concerts presented my me and my Jukes brother, John Isley. Every Wednesday, log onto www.concertwindow.com and we’ll bring a live show right to your living room, regardless of where you are on the planet. Wow!!! We broadcast in HD from a remote location and feature a different band each week, representing many different genres of music including blues, soul, jazz and good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll. Both John and I are really excited about this project and hope you will grab your favorite icey-cold beverage, put your feet up and meet us on Glenn Street every Wednesday!!! We’re also on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, so like us, follow us and check us out!!!

SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY AND THE ASBURY JUKES

Making kick-ass rock and roll since the mid-1970s, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes continues to be a powerful force both on stage and in the recording studio.  Although the band is synonymous with the “Jersey sound,” The Jukes have carved their own path by marrying blues, soul and rock into a combustible union of sonic joy.  Southside is still a wild man after all these years, and every time he steps on the stage, the audience is in for a surprise.  Hell, even the band doesn’t know what to expect much of the time!  I think that’s what makes it so much fun for all of us.  I’ve been with the band about five years now, and it is certainly never boring!  It’s really a privilege to have the opportunity to work with such a talented group of musicians and I encourage you to check out one of our live shows and join us for the crazy rollercoaster ride that is The Jukes.

GA3

Want some straight-up blues? Maybe with a little soul and a touch of funk thrown in for good measure? Then you HAVE to see GA3, my trio with drummer – and my Jukes bandmate – Tom Seguso and bassist extraordinaire, Tony Tino. We’ve played a handful of gigs and it’s been nothin’ but pure fun. Although we’re a trio, in the grand tradition of B.B and Albert King, we’ve been fortunate to have special guest musicians – the Jukes/New York Horns. That’s right, a horn section hoppin’ on the freight train, baby! And, once we get rollin’, there ain’t no stoppin’ us. I heartily encourage you to come out and sink your earballs smack-dab in the middle of this groove station.

NEW YORK HORNS

Another venture with some fellow Jukes cats. Chris Anderson (trumpet) and John Isley (saxophone) started this band about 15 years ago, but never had a lineup actually perform live – until now. And what a live show it is! They recruited me, and a bunch of other current/former/friends of Jukes, including Neal Pawley (trombone), Shawn Pelton (drums), Tony Tino (bass) and Rusty Cloud (keyboards) and we play the most fun, most funky, most rockin’ music on earth. What a lineup!!! We have a standing gig every third Wednesday at 78 Below in New York City and it’s a loud, raucous party and everyone is invited. Take a look at our Facebook page, give us a “like” and then come and see us live – fun is guaranteed.

 HUMBLEBRAG

When saxophonist John Isley joined The Jukes in 2012, an instant brotherhood was formed, and Humblebrag was born.   Humblebrag is an organ quartet that plays classic soul jazz.  We play some tunes you may know, some you may not know and some originals, but we always try to put a funky spin and whatever we’re playing.  We’re lucky to have two extraordinary musicians rounding out the quartet – Ron Oswanski on organ and Eric Halvorson on drums.  While the band is still in its infancy, we’ll be going in the studio very soon to record our first CD.  In the meantime, we’ll be at 78 Below in New York City the first Wednesday of every month, so c’mon out and see what we’re all about.  Oh, and you’re probably wondering what’s up with the name ?  Well, to “humblebrag” is too pretend to be modest while actually revealing how awesome you are.  We thought the name fit perfectly!

 OZMA CODE

Wow, what a lineup! Tommy Campbell on drums, Adam Holzman on keys, Mino Cinelu on percussion, William Kenney on bass and yours truly on guitar – these are the all-star players in my newest venture, Ozma Code. We play every other Sunday at the Village Lantern in New York City and focus on great material that lends itself to improvisational exploration. These cats have played/toured/recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Sting, Dizzy Gillespie and the list goes on and on. Oh, and wondering about the name? Well, “Project Ozma” was an experiment to search for signs of life in distant solar systems. It was named after the fictional ruler in the Wizard of Oz. Hope you ease on down and check us out one of these Sundays.

 ORIA ASPEN

An extraordinarily talented singer-songwriter, an exceptional pianist and a gifted flutist – that only begins to describe Oria Aspen.  Still only a teenager, she managed to pour her heart and soul into 13 original songs on her much-acclaimed debut CD, Yellow Paint,  which enjoyed extensive radio airplay in Europe.  I may have produced and played on the CD, but it’s all Oria’s show, and deservedly so.   Rarely does any artist produce such an honest and powerful work, and even it’s rarer from someone so young.  Do yourself a favor and check it out, both her CD and EP are available through her website.

 G PICKS

The latest venture of mine: G Picks.  These picks are handmade, all-natural, tortoise-shell guitar picks.  Made from the shells of western painted land turtles – NOT the illegal sea turtles – these picks are beautiful pieces of art that are completely functional and long-lasting and don’t break or wear like regular, plastic picks.  They come in different sizes and shapes and can also be used as jewelry or as an ornament.  Please check out my store for pricing and more information.  While pricier than regular picks, they last significantly longer and are worth the price!  Check ‘em out!

RAINBOW’S REVENGE RECORDS

Rainbow’s Revenge Records LLC is the independent record label I started in 2011. I was unhappy with what the mainstream labels provided and I felt my many years in the music business equipped me with knowledge of how to produce, release and market music I believed in. The latest release is Yellow Paint, the debut CD from Oria Aspen. I am always looking for new acts to welcome into the Rainbow’s Revenge fold, so please feel free to contact me for more information.
